The families of Collector have cause for celebration with the NSW Government to provide almost $300,000 for construction of a new toddler playground.

Mrs Tuckerman was in Collector on Thursday to share the good news with residents.

The playground will be installed at the Collector Memorial Hall, helping ensure the hall remains the centre of community life for people of all ages.

Just under $280,000 is being delivered through the NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants Program and supported by the Clubgrants Category 3 fund.

The new playground will provide a safe, engaging and inclusive environment for local families and visitors at the heart of the Collector community and will further enhance the hall precinct.

Mrs Tuckerman said the Collector Memorial Hall Committee should be extremely proud of what it has been able to achieve.

“Their dedication, hard work and commitment to their community is truly outstanding,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

Project Officer for the Collector Memorial Hall Committee, Jacqueline Menyhart, welcomed the announcement, describing it as a “significant milestone for the community”.

“The Memorial Hall is at the centre of community life, and this playground will make it an even more welcoming space for families with young children,” Ms Menyhart said.

“We’re incredibly grateful for this funding, which recognises the importance of investing in small communities like ours.

“This project will deliver lasting benefits for local families and help strengthen connections across our community.”

The project will involve the installation of a purpose-built toddler playground by Moduplay, designed to complement the existing hall facilities and support community events and activities.

Ms Menyhart also acknowledged the Crookwell Neighbourhood Centre - “with whom we have formed an important partnership” - demonstrating the enormous community effort required to get a project like this off the ground.

“There has been a lot of work behind the scenes to reach this point and we thank everyone who contributed along the way.

“We’re excited to now move forward and deliver this important community project.”

The playground will support family-friendly events and activities at the hall and will also enhance overall appeal of Collector as a welcoming village for families.
