Five teenage boys, including two aged just 13, have been arrested following an alleged liquor store theft and assault on a staff member at Narellan Vale over the weekend.
Police allege five young people entered the liquor store on Holdsworth Drive about 6.10pm on Saturday, 10 October, and stole multiple bottles of alcohol.
A male employee attempted to stop the group but was allegedly assaulted, suffering facial injuries.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the worker at the scene, but he did not require further medical treatment.
As the group fled, members of the public intervened and detained a 13-year-old boy until police arrived.
The boy was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with larceny. He was also charged over a separate alleged theft at a Mount Annan business earlier this year.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before a children's court on 2 November.
Following further investigations, Camden Police arrested four additional teenagers on Monday and Tuesday.
Three boys, aged 12, 15 and 16, were dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
A second 13-year-old boy was charged with six offences, including larceny, common assault, assaulting a retail worker without causing actual bodily harm, assaulting a retail worker causing actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and disguising his face with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before a children's court on Monday, 19 October.
All five teenagers allegedly involved in the incident have now been arrested.
