Drivers beware: closures on Moss Vale Rod

The Department of Transport has advised of daytime closures over Cambewarra Mountain and Barrengarry Mountain early next month to undertake ‘urgent’ drainage works.
Moss Vale Road will be closed between Barfield Road and Kangaroo Valley Road between 9am and 3pm on Monday, December 8 and Tuesday, December 9.
On Wednesday, December 10 and December 11 Barrengarry Mountain will be closed between Bunkers Hill Road and Myra Valley Road from 9am to 3pm.
Detours will be in place via the Illawarra Highway at Macquarie Pass – adding 90 minutes to the average travel time.
The works on Moss Vale road have been a constant source of frustration for Highlanders who commute to the Nowra area on a daily basis or who are travelling to Nowra and then heading north towards Wollongong or south toward Batemans Bay.
The area has been hit hard by extreme weather events and stabilisation works have been continuing for a number of years with lane closures, traffic control and lengthy delays,
