It’s one of the most famous trophies in the world – and it will be back in Bowral again this month.
The Lexus Melbourne Cup will be returning to the Southern Highlands for a second year running on August 27.
The Cup will be on show at Wyeera Racecourse as the Bong Bong Picnic Race Club gears up for its 140th anniversary celebrations in November.
Race fans have the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful morning tea supplied by Bowral CWA members including scones, sandwiches, tea, coffee and a dash of good old-fashioned country hospitality.
Visitors will have the opportunity to hold the Cup and capture a photo with the iconic $1 million trophy.
Tickets for the event are available at the Bong Bong Picnic Race Club site at bongbongprc.com.au
The Melbourne Cup is the richest two-mile handicap in the world and has been run every year since 1861.
Past winners have included Phar Lap in 1930.
