Babies will be a common sight in the Council Chambers at Moss Vale with a second Wingecarribee councillor welcoming a new arrival during the current term.
Council moved a mayoral minute at Wednesday’s meeting congratulating Cr Heather Champion and her partner Oliver on the arrival of daughter Esme Phoebe Paget Toohey at Bowral Hospital on November 28.
Cr Champion has passed on her gratitude to the “amazing” midwifery and obstetrics team at Bowral Hospital.
Mayor Jesse Fitpatrick said it was “incredibly exciting” to celebrate not just one but two newborns during council’s current term.
Cr Therese Duffy and husband Anthony welcomed a fourth child into the family on August 18 with the arrival of Amelia Therese Duffy.
Amelia has been a regular attendee at council meetings and other functions in recent months.
Cr Fitzpatrick described the two arrivals as a “rare and joyful milestone that highlights the wonderful personal moments that unfold alongside our work in public service”.
“These happy arrivals bring a special sense of warmth and optimism to the term, reminding us of the importance of family and (the) vision we are working towards,” he said.
