Council staff undergo skin cancer checks across Upper Lachlan
Upper Lachlan Shire Council has carried out workplace skin checks for staff, with more than 95 employees taking part.

Upper Lachlan Shire Council has carried out workplace skin checks for staff, with more than 95 employees taking part.
The checks were run across council departments as part of a health push focused on early detection of skin cancer.
Chief Executive Officer Alex Waldrom said the uptake showed staff were taking the issue seriously.
“With over 95 employees from various departments participating, it demonstrates Council’s commitment to personal health and safety for our staff,” he said.
“Given the prevalence of skin cancer, this is an important reminder for our teams to look after their skin.”
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with outdoor workers considered at higher risk due to prolonged sun exposure.
The council said the initiative forms part of its broader workplace health program.
