Now into its 74th year, The Goulburn Lilac City Festival returns this October Long Weekend from Friday 3 to Monday 6 October.

The Goulburn City Lilac Festival is Australia’s longest continuously run community festival.

Since 1952, this colourful springtime tradition has grown into a joyous showcase of Goulburn’s community spirit, creativity, and blooms.

Belmore Park in the centre of the city will be the heart of the action, with the ever-popular Lilac Markets, delicious food stalls, lilacs for sale and the return of Joyland’s Amusements.

This year’s highlights also include the spectacular Lilac Festival Parade down Auburn Street, the ceremonial naming of the Junior Prince and Princess, a whimsical Tea Party with the Mad Hatter, and live performances from the Australian Rugby Choir and the Youth Battle of the Bands.

The packed program also features the new Youth Creative Art Show, the Hanging of the Quilts, a bonsai exhibition, the Pet Parade, photography and colouring competitions, the Festival Garden Competition, and the traditional window display competition. Be sure to also take part in the Lilac Time Paint ’n Sip & Flower Workshop.

“This festival is a celebration of everything that makes Goulburn special; our people, our creativity, and our spirit,” Vice President of the Goulburn Lilac City Festival, Samuel Ross, said.

“It’s not just about watching the festivities; it is about being part of them. We welcome everyone to get involved, share their talents, and create memories together at this year’s Festival.”

Entry is free to most activities.
