BREAKING - State Government issues action plan to Wingecarribee Shire Council
In response to a question by Wollondilly MP Judy Hannan in Parliament this morning the Minister has confirmed Wingecarribee Shire Council have been issued an action plan.
In response to a question by Wollondilly MP Judy Hannan in Parliament this morning the Minister has confirmed Wingecarribee Shire Council are on notice.
The Wollondilly MP asked what steps are being taken in relation to the delays in development assessments by council. In reply, the Minister indicated, as he did on Radio 2ST, that locals should question the leadership of council.
The Minister said that he has issued an 'action plan' to Wingecarribee which must be adopted by the end of June. The Minister advised that should council not adopt the action plan by the end of June that council could lose their planning powers.
Minister Scully said councillors need to have a 'can-do' attitude.
In a sign that this story is developing, The Southern Wire understands that General Manager Miscamble and Mayor Fitzpatrick are attending talks with the Local Government Minister today in Sydney.
