Breaking: Horror as body found in suitcase near Goulburn
A major police investigation is underway after the body of a woman was found inside a suitcase near Goulburn on Sunday afternoon.
A major police investigation is underway after the body of a woman was found inside a suitcase near Goulburn on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Wolgon Road, near Oallen Ford Road at Oallen, about 61 kilometres south of Goulburn, at approximately 12.50pm following reports a body had been located.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District attended and located a body inside a suitcase.
The body has not yet been formally identified, however police believe it is that of a woman.
A crime scene has been established while specialist forensic officers examine the scene. The suitcase has been seized for forensic examination as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
A NSW Police spokesperson told The Southern Wire the investigation is in its early stages.
"About 12.50pm today (Sunday 9 August 2026), police were called to Wolgon Road, near Oallen Ford Road, Oallen, following reports a body had been located," the spokesperson said.
"Officers attached to The Hume Police District attended and located a body in a suitcase."
"The body is yet to be formally identified; however, it is believed to be female."
"A crime scene has been established, and the suitcase has been seized to undergo forensic examination while detectives commence an investigation into the incident."
Police said no further information is available at this stage.
