Boost for Home-Start National Inc

An organisation providing “compassionate, practical support” to families in crisis will be able to help more people thanks to NSW Government funding.
Home-Start National Inc has received almost $35,000 in funding through the NSW Government’s 2025 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.
The money will be used to purchase a new vehicle to support the organisation’s programs across Goulburn Mulwaree, Yass Valley and the Upper Lachlan.
It will double the number of family connections, improve access to essential services and facilities and reduce waiting time for vulnerable families and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault across the region.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman welcomed the CBP funding.
“Home-Start does incredible work providing compassionate, practical support to families in crisis,” she said.
“This funding will help them reach more people, more often, ensuring that vulnerable families and survivors get the help when they need it,” she said.
Home-Start Australia CEO Michelle McDonell said the funding would enable the organisation to respond more quickly to families who are struggling.
“With a second vehicle our team and volunteers will be able to connect with twice as many families, reducing isolation and ensuring people can access the right support without long delays,” she said.
Home-Start National Inc provides community-based, early intervention and crisis support services to families experiencing stress, isolation or trauma. Its volunteer home visiting program pairs trained staff with families to offer mentoring, guidance and connection to local resources.
The CBP program has funded more than 22,400 community projects since 2009, supporting not-for profit organisations and councils to deliver projects that strengthen communities.
