Applications open for wind farm community funds
Groups in the Upper Lachlan area are being invited to apply for grants through the community fund programs for the Crookwell II and III Wind Farms, the Cullerin Range Wind Farm and Gullen Range Wind Farm.

Groups in the Upper Lachlan area are being invited to apply for grants through the community fund programs for the Crookwell II and III Wind Farms, the Cullerin Range Wind Farm and Gullen Range Wind Farm.
Project guidelines and application forms are now available on council’s website at upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au
The community fund programs for all three of the wind farm projects are designed to enhance and enrich community initiatives throughout the area.
Funds are available for the purchase of new equipment, the construction of new facilities, renovation/rehabilitation projects, new programs and other initiatives that will enhance the community’s quality of life and well-being.
The community funds are managed by committees made up of community members as well as council and wind farm representatives.
Applications for funding through the Crookwell and Cullerin programs must be for projects and initiatives within a 20km radius of the relevant wind project or provide a direct benefit to the community within a 20km radius of the project.
For the Gullen program, the radius is 10km.
Applications will close at 5pm on Friday, May 8.
Successful applicants will be notified in June and the funds released in July.
Applicants are advised that because of the limited funds available, not all requests for funding that meet the relevant criteria will be approved.
The community funds are part of the Community Enhancement Programs for each of the projects and are designed to broaden the benefits of the wind farms throughout the area.
