One of the region’s most prestigious schools has a new Head of College.

Mark Case – who has been Oxley’s Acting Head of College since September last year – will now step into the top job and has chosen to take on the title of Headmaster.

Parents and carers were advised of the appointment by the Chair of Oxley’s Board of Governors, Jane Crowley.

Mrs Crowley congratulated Mr Case on the appointment and said his “collaborative leadership and calm management” over the past few months “have ensured that Oxley is again centred on the principles of our founding members”.

Mr Case has a long and valued connection to Oxley.

Since joining the College Executive in 2018 as Deputy Head Pastoral (Years 7–12), he has held a number of key leadership roles including Deputy Head of Senior School and from 2024, Deputy Head of College (P–12).

Mrs Crowley said Mr Case had earned the respect and confidence of the school community during his time at Oxley as a teacher of Philosophy and Ethics, a sports coach and a senior leader.

Mr Case attended Oxford University and has more than 25 years’ experience in independent schools across the United Kingdom and Australia with a strong track record in operational and strategic leadership.

He is also a graduate of the National Flagship Program – a highly rigorous leadership program run by Independent Schools NSW designed for experienced senior educational leaders.

“The Board conducted significant due diligence prior to making this decision and having been briefed on his vision for Oxley, we are confident that under Mr Case’s stewardship, Oxley and our students are in very capable hands,” Mrs Crowley said.

"He has a deep understanding of our community and a clear commitment to our core purpose, mission and values.

“Mr Case has played an important role in shaping Oxley’s 2025–2027 Strategy, working closely with the Leadership Team, College Executive and Board.

“We are delighted that Mr Case will be stepping into this role and for the care and integrity he will continue to bring to the College.

“The Governors join me in looking forward to working with him in the years ahead.”

Mr Case replaces Scott Bedingfield who stepped down as Oxley’s Head of College after two years in the position, telling the Board he wanted to spend more time with his family and would be leaving the Southern Highlands to spend more time with his family.

Oxley College in Burradoo was founded in 1983 and according to its website remains “truly independent, authentically co-educational and proudly non-denominational”.

“We are large enough to offer an inspiring breadth of academic subjects and co-curricular experiences, yet small enough to ensure every student is known, valued and cared for.”

Fees for the exclusive college range from $14,005 per year for Kindergarten students to $26,475 per year for Year 12 students with additional charges for ‘distinctives’ and ‘recharges’ such as overnight camps, compulsory excursions and other mandatory events.
