Acclaimed actor to perform heartfelt, hilarious and unmissable show in Bowral
This year’s At Our Table – Highlands Wellbeing Forum will kick off tomorrow night (Friday, August 14) with a performance by acclaimed actor Rob Carlton at Centennial Vineyards in Bowral.
This year’s At Our Table – Highlands Wellbeing Forum will kick off tomorrow night (Friday, August 14) with a performance by acclaimed actor Rob Carlton at Centennial Vineyards in Bowral.
Carlton’s show, Virgin in a Knife Fight, is described as a masterclass in theatrical storytelling with the Logie-winner delivering four true stories that swing from hilarious to heartfelt.
The show has earned widespread praise with Rob Mills describing it as ‘the antidote to the manosphere’.
He said it offered “exquisite storytelling, with humour and vulnerability, moments of deep reflections, a well of wisdom, kindness and compassion, poise and prose”.
Other critics have described the show as ‘utterly unmissable’.
Carlton has been a professional actor since the age of 14 and has appeared in some of Australia’s most popular television series including A Country Practice, Home and Away, Blue Heelers, Water Rats, Fireflies, McLeod’s Daughters and All Saints.

The forum itself will run over three days starting Monday, August 31 and then continuing on Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4.
Now in its third year, the forum offers access to internationally recognised experts and evidence-based guidance to local parents, carers and educators – resources that would otherwise be out of reach.
Organisers say the theme, At Our Table, centres on connection, collaboration and community - an invitation for everyone to come together in a shared effort to strengthen wellbeing across the Southern Highlands.
This year there will be a particular focus on raising children in a technology driven world.
Speakers will include world-leading psychology and education expert Professor Lea Waters AM, PhD and the CEO and founder of the Rites of Passage Institute and 2025 Australian Father of the Year, Dr Arne Rubinstein OAM.
The forum is hosted by the Highlands Youth Co-Lab - a community-led initiative strengthening youth mental health across the Southern Highlands through prevention, early intervention and coordinated local action.
