33 new citizens welcomed in Goulburn

Thirty-three people have officially become Australian citizens at a ceremony held in Goulburn today.

Thirty-three people have officially become Australian citizens at a ceremony held in Goulburn today.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council hosted the ceremony, with Mayor Nina Dillon and Councillor Michael Prevedello presenting citizenship certificates.

The new citizens come from a range of countries including the Philippines, Scotland, India, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Taiwan, Kiribati, Nepal, the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Brazil.

Mayor Dillon said it was an 'honour' to welcome the group to the local community.

A morning tea was held following the ceremony for new citizens and their families to mark the occasion.
