Local alleged child sex offender released on Bail

Donato Roque Gregorio, 35, fronted Moss Vale Court yesterday before Magistrate Degnan, charged with transmitting indecent communications to two female minors aged under 16 living in the Philippines.

Grigorio was arrested at his Moss Vale home on August 28 and charged with using a carriage service to transmit indecent communications to a person under 16. He was one of nine people rounded up in secretive raids by the Australian Federal Police as part of Operation Titan.

The alleged offence carries a maximum 10-year gaol sentence.

He must report to the Southern Highlands Police Station three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) and must be of good behaviour and not commit any criminal offences whilst on bail.

He is prevented from leaving Australia or approaching within 100 metres of any point of international departure and will be forced to surrender his passport.

In addition:

• He is not to be unaccompanied in the presence of any person aged 16 years or under;

• He is not to approach within 100 meters of a school, pre-school or child care facility;

• He is not to contact anyone 16 years or under via landline telephone, mobile telephone, email, social networking site or other available internet messaging service;

• He is not to use the internet and is not to access the internet through a third person;

• He is not to have the internet connected to any premises where he ordinarily resides;

• He must not own or possess a mobile telephone that can access the internet;

• He must provide the make, model and International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) of any mobile device within seven days of coming into possession of that device;

• He must present that mobile phone for inspection upon reasonable request by a police officer of the New South Wales Police or Australian Federal Police;

• He must not seek employment within any institution or organisation involved with the care of children.

He will appear again before Moss Vale Local Court on November 17.
