Goulburn Mulwaree Council has announced the appointment of Robert (Rob) Hughes as the new Director of Assets and Operations, effective next Monday 3 November.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council has announced the appointment of Robert (Rob) Hughes as the new Director of Assets and Operations, effective next Monday 3 November.
A Council spokesperson told The Southern Wire that Rob’s journey with Council over 32 years is a testament to his dedication, commitment, and leadership.
“He began his career with Council on 4 January 1993 as an apprentice horticulturist and has since worked his way through a variety of operational and management roles,” the spokesperson said.
“Over the years, Rob has earned the respect of colleagues and community members alike for his professionalism, local knowledge, and passion for delivering high-quality services.”
Rob said he was proud to be appointed into the role.
“Ever since having started my career with Council, I am deeply committed to ensuring we continue to provide reliable services and maintain the essential infrastructure that supports the needs of our community,” he said.
General Manager Scott Gallacher echoed those words.
“Rob’s journey with Council exemplifies his loyalty and dedication,” he said.
“He brings a wealth of experience and a strong community focus to the role. We had a large number of candidates, but Rob’s passion for both our staff and community made him the stand-out choice.”
