Arrests in Goulburn after Police pursuit.
About 6.55am on Thursday 12 February 2026, Goulburn Highway Patrol officers detected an alleged stolen VW Golf travelling south-bound on the Hume Highway, Goulburn Bypass, at 140km/hr in a 110km/hr signposted zone.

About 6.55am on Thursday 12 February 2026, Goulburn Highway Patrol officers detected an alleged stolen VW Golf travelling south-bound on the Hume Highway, Goulburn Bypass, at 140km/hr in a 110km/hr signposted zone.
When police attempted to stop the vehicle, it allegedly failed to do so, and a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later the car stopped on Hume Street, Goulburn, after hitting uneven roadway.
Police searched the vehicle and allegedly located several bank cards and two balaclavas.
The driver – an 18-year-old man – and a 20-year-old passenger were arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station.
The driver allegedly returned a positive drug test for cannabis.
He was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly, class A m/v exceed speed > 20 km/h, receive etc property stolen outside NSW, two counts of goods suspected stolen in/on premises, never licensed person drive vehicle on road and breach of bail.
The passenger was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
Both were refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 3 on Friday 13 February 2026 where they were formally refused bail to appear in Goulburn Local Court today (Wednesday 18 February 2026).
